Shopify Sync:
Use the below guide to sync a pre-existing Shopify store with our marketplace.
Create a Private App in Shopify
To make the product sync feature work, you first need to create a private app on your Shopify store. Visit the “APPS” section of your existing Shopify Store. Scroll down to the bottom, you will see the “MANAGE PRIVATE APPS” option. Click on it to create a new private app.
In the PRIVATE APP NAME field enter “Seller Sync App”. In the EMERGENCY DEVELOPER EMAIL field enter your email address.
REQUIRED PERMISSIONS TO CREATE A PRIVATE APP
Configure your Private App permissions as follows:
Products, variants, and collections (Read and write)
# read_products, write_products
Orders, transactions and fulfillments (Read and write)
# read_orders, write_orders
Fulfillment services (Read and write)
# read_fulfillments, write_fulfillments
Inventory (Read and write)
# read_inventory, write_inventory
Locations (Read Access)
# read_locations
You should now see “SELLER SYNC APP” in the APPS menu in your Shopify account.
Click on the app to get the API Key and details needed to link to your store in our marketplace.
In a new browser window, log in to your seller dashboard for our marketplace.
Go to: CONFIGURATION>>SELLER SYNC APP CONFIGURATION
Enter your STORE URL, API KEY, in the SECRET KEY field, enter your PASSWORD (not your Shared Secret Number), and be sure to enable (green) AUTO SYNC NEW PRODUCTS. SAVE.
Next, you will need to MAP YOUR COLLECTIONS so that Shopify knows where to list your items in our store.
Map Product Collection
You can map your entire COLLECTION with ours, so your products show in the correct areas of our marketplace. Go to CONFIGURATION>>SELLER SYNC APP CONFIGURATION >>MAP COLLECTION.
COLLECTION NAME OF MERCHANT STORE: (Jackalope Arts) will auto-populate a dropdown list of our collections to choose from.
Please select only ONE main category tab and you can also select a Gift Guide if it applies. See a full list of our COLLECTIONS below:
You will notice that under each collection there is a sub-category called Holiday Themed. Please only select this if you fit within the parameters in being specific to the holidays, ie. holiday cards, holiday themed jewelry, holiday home decor/ornaments etc.
We have also included (4) Gift Guides that you can opt to select if your product fits into that category. These are BIPOC Owned, DIY (activity kits etc.), Jackalope Themed (items that have a Jackalope in them) and Under $10- which will be marketed as stocking stuffers.
COLLECTION NAMES OF YOUR STORE: Enter all of the collections from your store that should map to that collection in our store, separated by commas.
After you have mapped all your collections, click IMPORT PRODUCTS
PLEASE NOTE: You must click IMPORT PRODUCTS and go through the importing process to add your products to our marketplace the first time, before the AUTO SYNC NEW PRODUCTS option will take effect.
You will have three methods to import products:-
Method 1:- Import products by DATE RANGE . This means the date range in which you loaded products to your own Shopify store. Anything within that range will sync.
Method 2:- Import products by comma-separated PRODUCT IDS.
Method 3:- Import products by PRODUCT HANDLE.
Once the import is complete, your products will show in the PRODUCT LISTING page. Check your products and collections to verify that they have uploaded correctly. To edit a product, click on the 3 blue dots on the right side of the product listing.
When you are finished editing, click SAVE CHANGES.
After you have uploaded, please check to see if your COLLECTIONS have synced properly. It is likely you may have to manually check collections if you fit into more than one.
Inventory Management Process: Important Information
ORDERS PLACED THROUGH OUR MARKETPLACE
When an order is placed on our marketplace, the order will show in your Shopify store. The inventory count gets updated on our marketplace, and in your Shopify store in real time.
You don’t need to take any action to update the inventory when an order is placed on our marketplace when you user the SELLER SYNC APP as long as you enable AUTO SYNC NEW PRODUCTS (see p.10).
ORDERS PLACED ON YOUR SHOPIFY STORE
When an order is placed on your Shopify store, the product inventory count will be updated on our marketplace.
You don’t need to take any action to update the inventory when an order is placed on your Shopify store when you user the SELLER SYNC APP as long as you enable AUTO SYNC NEW PRODUCTS (see p.10).
If any product you list on our marketplace is not AUTO SYNCED with your Shopify store (not recommended), you will need to sync products manually from the PRODUCT LISTING menu. Warning: This may cause you to oversell inventory if you do not sync products regularly. See p.10 to enable AUTO SYNC NEW PRODUCTS.
Manually Updating Products
If you disable (red) the AUTO-SYNC NEW PRODUCTS Tab (not recommended):-
When you make changes to products on your Shopify store, you will get a notification in our marketplace dashboard to update all products. Click “VIEW THE PRODUCTS” to view the products that are not yet updated on the Jackalope Arts marketplace.
All the imported products will now be visible in the “PRODUCT LISTING” section of your seller panel.
All of the products that have been uploaded successfully will be shown in the PRODUCT LISTING page. You will now need to check your products and ADD COLLECTIONS to verify that each product has uploaded correctly. To do this (or to edit the product in the future), click on the 3 blue dots on the right side of the product listing.
You will now see the PRODUCT EDITOR for the individual product you selected (see next page for screenshot). Look over your products carefully to make sure all of the product information has uploaded correctly.
Enter the PRODUCT TYPE (for example ‘Bracelets’).
Please select only ONE Main COLLECTION (Art, Home, Jewelry, Accessories, Family, Body, Fashion, Food) and a Gift Guide if it applies for your product to be assigned to. This will allow your products to show up when a customer chooses a collection from the navigation menu in the online store.
IE, if your product is a bracelet, click the box next to ‘Bracelets’ under the Jewelry collection. This will add your product to the Jewelry collection and the Bracelets sub- collection so that when a customer navigates to the Jewelry section of the website or the Bracelets section of the website, the customer will see your product on those pages.
